Isaiah 52 (Tree of Life Version)

Ma Navu: The Song of Salvation

52 Awake, awake!
Clothe yourself in your strength, Zion!
Clothe yourself in beautiful garments, Jerusalem, the holy city,
for the uncircumcised and the unclean
    will never invade you again.
² Shake off the dust and arise!
Be enthroned, Jerusalem.
Loose the bonds off your neck,
    captive Daughter of Zion.

³ For thus says Adonai:
“You were sold for nothing.
So you will be redeemed without silver.”
⁴ For thus says Adonai Elohim:
“At first My people went down to Egypt to reside there,
    then the Assyrian oppressed them for nothing.
⁵ “Now therefore, what do I have here?”
—it is a declaration of Adonai—
“My people are taken away for nothing?
Its rulers wail”
—it is Adonai’s declaration—
“and My Name is continually blasphemed all day long.^[a]
6 Therefore My people will know My Name.
Therefore in that day,
    I am the One who will be saying, ‘Hineni!’

Here is Isaiah 52:7

מַה־נָּאו֨וּ עַל־הֶֽהָרִ֜ים רַגְלֵ֣י מְבַשֵּׂ֗ר מַשְׁמִ֧יעַ שָׁל֛וֹם מְבַשֵּׂ֥ר ט֖וֹב מַשְׁמִ֣יעַ יְשׁוּעָ֑ה אֹמֵ֥ר לְצִיּ֖וֹן מָלַ֥ךְ אֱלֹהָֽיִךְ:

“How beautiful are the feet upon the mountains of the harbinger proclaiming peace,proclaiming good tidings and announcing salvation.Saying to Tzion God has his king.”

You notice the word used for salvation here Yeshua יְשׁוּעָ֑ה which the Hebrew name of Jesus is used again in verse 10 but in the plural there.

“The voice of your watchmen—they will lift up their voices.
Together they are shouting for joy!
For they will see eye to eye
    when Adonai returns to Zion.
⁹ Break forth in joy, sing together,
you ruins of Jerusalem,
for Adonai has comforted His people.
He has redeemed Jerusalem.
¹⁰ Adonai has bared His holy arm
before the eyes of all the nations.
All the ends of the earth will see
    the salvation of our God”

“

Leave, leave! Get out of there!
Touch no unclean thing.
Go out of her midst. Purify yourselves,
you who carry the vessels of Adonai.
12 For you will not go out in haste,
nor will you go in flight,
for Adonai will go before you,
and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

Verse 13

גהִנֵּ֥ה יַשְׂכִּ֖יל עַבְדִּ֑י יָר֧וּם וְנִשָּׂ֛א וְגָבַ֖הּ מְאֹֽד:

“Behold my servant will succeed and be exalted,and praised and be very high”

The word Yarum ,fourth from the left which I translated as exalted can also mean “will be risen”

Verses 14-15

Just as many were appalled at You—
His appearance was disfigured more than any man,
His form more than the sons of men.
¹⁵ So He will sprinkle many nations.
Kings will shut their mouths because of Him,
for what had not been told them they will see,
and what they had not heard they will perceive.

Now on the chapter 53:

Who has believed our report?^[a]
To whom is the arm of Adonai revealed?
² For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot,
    like a root out of dry ground.
He had no form or majesty that we should look at Him,
nor beauty that we should desire Him.
³ He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief,
One from whom people hide their faces.
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.^[b]
4 Surely He has borne our griefs^[c]
    and carried our pains.
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
    struck by God, and afflicted.

Verse 5

הוְהוּא֙ מְחֹלָ֣ל מִפְּשָׁעֵ֔נוּ מְדֻכָּ֖א מֵֽעֲוֹֽנוֹתֵ֑ינוּ מוּסַ֚ר שְׁלוֹמֵ֙נוּ֙ עָלָ֔יו וּבַֽחֲבֻֽרָת֖וֹ נִרְפָּא־לָֽנוּ:

“And he was desecrated for our faults,crushes for our sins and the reprimand of our peace was upon him.By his bruises (stripes/cuts/lashes) we are healed”

Verse 5 is pretty explicit I think.Let us skip to verse 7 you can look up 6 in your Bible

נִגַּ֨שׂ וְה֣וּא נַֽעֲנֶה֘ וְלֹ֣א יִפְתַּח־פִּיו֒ כַּשֶּׂה֙ לַטֶּ֣בַח יוּבָ֔ל וּכְרָחֵ֕ל לִפְנֵ֥י גֹֽזְזֶ֖יהָ נֶֽאֱלָ֑מָה וְלֹ֥א יִפְתַּ֖ח פִּֽיו:

“He was oppressed and was tortured,and did not open his mouth and like a lamb to the slaughter he was taken,and like a sheep silent before the shearers ,he would not open his mouth”

It is often argued that that the suffering servant of Isaiah is the Jewish people in exile and this is likely true but we also know the Bible is mystical and often has dual meanings.It would be equally difficult to read these key passages in Isaiah 52-53 not not conclude that the death of Jesus of Nazareth was being foretold here.I would say that yes much of these two chapters of Yeshayahu are about Jesus.

One last thing ,as we know Jesus was from Nazareth or Natzrat in Hebrew and Al Nasira in Arabic.

This is Isaiah 11:1

וְיָצָ֥א חֹ֖טֶר מִגֶּ֣זַע יִשָׁ֑י וְנֵ֖צֶר מִשָּֽׁרָשָׁ֥יו יִפְרֶֽה:

“And a stem will shoot forth from the stem of Yishai/Jesse (father of David) and a twig will sprout from it’s roots”

The word used for twig is neitzer נֵ֖צֶר the likely root etymology of the city Nazareth.
