Thoughts on Zechariah

Chapter 13.6 in the Hebrew

וְאָמַ֣ר אֵלָ֔יו מָ֧ה הַמַּכּ֛וֹת הָאֵ֖לֶּה בֵּ֣ין יָדֶ֑יךָ וְאָמַ֕ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֻכֵּ֖יתִי בֵּ֥ית מְאַֽהֲבָֽי:

“And was said to him ,what are these wounds between your hands?And he said,that which I was wounded in the house of my friends.”

I think that says it all,that is the cross and that a close friend betrayed him!

Here is chapter 14.2 in the NIV

“² I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.”

Does this kind of sound like recent headlines in Israel ,of coarse not all it ,theb Kibutzim were ransacked and women were raped.Interesting for sure!

Here is 14.6-7

“⁶ On that day there will be neither sunlight nor cold, frosty darkness. ⁷ It will be a unique day—a day known only to the Lord—with no distinction between day and night. When evening comes, there will be light.”

Here is 8-9 which looks more like the New Jerusalem of revelations

⁸ On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it east to the Dead Sea and half of it west to the Mediterranean Sea, in summer and in winter.

⁹ The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name.

We are now done with Zechariah part 2 soon and maybe I should have just done 1 article but we have some space ,lets do for fun the churches of revelation.Please read Revelation chapter 2.1 through 3.22 to understand what I am saying.

Who was Ephesus? They were the Apostolic church,the church of mostly Jewish early followers of Jesus right after his life and death.

Who was Smyrna?They were the persecuted church,the post letters of Paul church from about the Nero era of Rome to just before Constantine.

Who was Pergoamos?Right after Nicea with the blending of true Jewish Chistianity with wordly pagan ideas,a blend of true Christianity and some paganism.Some call this the married church,meaning married both to God and the world.This is the Roman Catholic church pre schism.

Thyatira?This is the medieval Church ,the Roman Catholic and Byzantium (Eastern Orthodox Church) post schism (1053-1054 CE)

Sardis?The Protestant reformation,the denominational era,Lutheran,Episcopal church,Presbyterian etc……..When things were defined by protestant denomination.

Philidelphia? The missionary church,the evangelicals,the fundi’s ,the Jesus freaks.The most put down because this church is the closest the the truest of Christianity.This is the best to date so far.Not that non denominational evangelicals are perfect ,but the best to date so far.

Laodicea?The apostate church,the church that has deserted the true gospel in favor of good works preaching and social justice.This church supports wordly agenda’s without even preaching true gospel.The Catholic church watered down the gospel to be more wordly in hopes of increasing church attendance.This church threw the gospel out all together in favor of the world.
