More thoughts on Jeremiah and other things

Here is Jeremiah 1:16

“I will pronounce my judgments on my people
    because of their wickedness in forsaking me,
in burning incense to other gods
    and in worshiping what their hands have made”

This pertains to salvation on faith alone in that God’s judgement came to ancient Israel by forsaking the Lord and offering worship to other gods what is called avodah zerah meaning strange worship.And thinking the works of their hands would save them even if they worshiped idols or even demons!

Here is Jeremiah 20:15

“Cursed be the man who brought my father the news,
    who made him very glad, saying,
    “A child is born to you—a son!”

Here is the hebrew

טו” אָר֣וּר הָאִ֗ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֨ר בִּשַּׂ֚ר אֶת־אָבִי֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר יֻֽלַּד־לְךָ֖ בֵּ֣ן זָכָ֑ר שַׂמֵּ֖חַ שִׂמְּחָֽהוּ

Here, where it says news the word bisar בִּשַּׂ֚ר is used and this often denotes good tidings and this is the root of the word b’sorah which is Hebrew for Gospel.This is clearly a proto reference to the Gospel of Jesus the Messiah or Christ!

To leave Jeremiah and look at proverbs ,30:4

⁴ Who has gone up to heaven and come down?
    Whose hands have gathered up the wind?
Who has wrapped up the waters in a cloak?
    Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is his name, and what is the name of his son?
    Surely you know!

Very interesting ,looks like Jesus to me!

Here is proverbs again 6:23 NIV again

²³ “For this command is a lamp,
    this teaching is a light,
and correction and instruction
    are the way to life,”

Look how this compares to John 14:6

⁶ Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Very similar what the call in the Talmud a g’zeirah shavah which means equal verdict but refers to different Bible passages echoing a similar meaning.

For those who say the Old Testament or Tanakh does not talk often of hell ,here is Proverbs 5:11

¹¹ At the end of your life you will groan,
    when your flesh and body are spent.

Here is Psalm 120:5 and I believe it is talking about Islam in southern Russia

Woe to me that I dwell in Meshek,
    that I live among the tents of Kedar!

Here is Psalm 103:1-5 NIV ,more predictions of Jesus

¹ Praise the Lord, my soul;
    all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
² Praise the Lord, my soul,
    and forget not all his benefits—
³ who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
⁴ who redeems your life from the pit
    and crowns you with love and compassion,
⁵ who satisfies your desires with good things
    so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Psalm 95 NIV

Psalm 95

¹ Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
    let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

Psalm 84:8-9

⁸ Hear my prayer, Lord God Almighty;
    listen to me, God of Jacob.
⁹ Look on our shield,^[e] O God;
    look with favor on your anointed one.

Anointed one is Mashiach in Hebrew or that is Messiah or Christ in Greek!
